(HONG KONG, May 16, 2026) The 3rd Hong Kong International Cultural & Creative Expo was successfully held this May in Hong Kong. In a key session of the expo, Mr. Sandy Cheng, Chairman of the African General Chamber of Commerce (AGCC), delivered a significant speech on the opportunities for cultural and economic cooperation between China and Africa under the Belt and Road Initiative.
In his address, Mr. Cheng highlighted Hong Kong’s role as a “super-connector” between Mainland China and Africa, emphasizing the vast potential in the cultural and creative industries. He shared practical strategies for business matching and stressed the importance of empowering enterprises from the Greater China region to expand into the African market.
Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, was also present at the event. She joined other distinguished guests to witness the vibrancy of Hong Kong as a hub for East-meets-West arts and cultural exchange. The expo served as a robust platform for fostering deeper China-Africa collaboration.
